BMFA 2008 Nationals A display of BMPRA models and practical demonstrations will take place in the hanger on the Saturday evening starting around 7.30-8.00 and will run on until late. On display will be all the latest models from all classes, plus demonstrations on molding and laying up carbon fiber propellers, rewiring plugs and the construction and laying up of a Q500 wing. If there is anything else you would like to see (so long as it legal) let me know and I will try and sort it. |

28th & 29th June 2008 A big thank you must go out to the BMPRA Wings and Wheels team of Barrie, Joe, Ben, Geb, Dave, Darren, Ollie and Paul (overlander.co.uk). Apart from having great weather all weekend and evening with a couple of beers and a great blues band. We had great success with the stand, with many interested visitors keeping us busy all day long, several showing an interest in having ago and want to know more. I'm not sure what Ben (now an A class celebratory) thought about being mobbed on the way back from the flight line by adoring fans! Throughout the day we had people coming up to us thanking us and question our sanity, most saying the pylon models where the best part of the show, in fact one guy told me it was the first thing to excite him in many years. One group of lads came over and started asking questions and looking at the models, after a few minutes one started laughing, apparently they thought we would all be hyped up juvenil nutters. The less said about that the better. It would appear we've been asked back, makes a change the only time we normally go back is to apologize.

Ben and Geb running up for the 2nd demo flight, but what's Paul doing, believe it or not he's pinched Dave Bishops microphone so that the paying public get full value (I hope the BMPRA funds will cover the repair of the sound system). In all my years of attending model flying events I've never seen crowds react like they did today. I know were not show men, but you've got to admit it was great to see the look on those faces.

Early Saturday morning and all is well, Myself, Barrie Lever and Dave Cline photo taken by my son Joe and stand set up. Models on the stand are Mick Illingworths club 2000 models, my Paul Harvey built Q500 bull dog, Barrie's Bird of Pray and Dave Cline's Dago from last year, plus his new EVO as featured in the R/C modelworld articles. I'm up for it again next year, how about you, we spend a lot of time racing together but never get out as a group in a relaxed social atmosphere, we should do it more. |

Paul Bardoe Reports
Well what a weekend for pylon ,
Were forget that Ben had a rich run and Ollies batts only just got warm they
put on a speed spectacular that had every one on there feet and according to
DB it was a dead heat and we will leave there but the sight of the Dago
steaming down the runway then pulling vertical with the little Voodo right
beside it was FANTASTIC !!!!
The worse thing is we've been asked to do it again. Good job done by all thank you Paul
